One Month

We have officially been here one month now. I have truly enjoyed teasing my family with our warm temperatures and sunshine, really just in hopes that they will break down and come to stay for a while! I think it is great that you can start working on your tan in January here. Every weekend Matt has dedicated Sundays to family time and giving his brain a break from all of that studying. We are excited to try something new every weekend or just visit the beach. Last weekend we went to the beach, this weekend we went to Carbon Canyon to go hiking (not a recommended hike) and next weekend we are going to go to the beach again. We look forward to finding nice hiking trails, visiting the orange county zoo, camping, and visit national parks.

A New Week

Today marks the first day of a new week for us. Today Matt starts school and I start really working on getting clients for my medical claims & billing business. Real life starts today.

I feel like we have settled in just fine and it is starting to feel like home. It is good to have all of the boxes unpacked and to have furniture again. My surroundings are starting to feel more familiar and I am really enjoying discovering my new city.

Although I miss my family and friends in Kansas City, I truly look forward to the beginning of a new life here.

Our New Home

We Made It!

We made it to Brea, California on December 17th. It was a long, long drive, but we finally made it. We have a really nice two bedroom, two and a half bathroom home in Brea, California. It is quite beautiful and is within walking distance of almost everything you could ever need. There is a great downtown area with a lot to do and we are eager to discover everything in our new town.

Just a few short days

It is finally starting to hit me that we are actually moving. We pack our bags and head for California on Thursday, December 16th. I have mixed feelings; I am very, very excited, but dread saying good-byes here in Kansas City. I look forward to getting settled into our new home and not living in a mess of boxes, sleeping on an air mattress and eating creative meals just to use up what is left. I look forward to 75 degree temperatures rather than the bone chilling temperatures we have been experiencing here and starting a new life in a new place. I look forward to starting my new job as a medical claims and billing specialist and staying home with my beautiful little girl. So, farewell Kansas City, Missouri and here I come Brea, California.
